"Live Big Girl" is a Poetic play about 3 women and their different and not so different experiences of living in a body that is not celebrated.
There is root deep digging towards self- awareness, Self- acceptance, and self-love.
Through poetry, in movement and in stillness,
offering a prescription for healing, in the taking back of their bodies from the mouths of critics.
Fierceness comes when truths are shared.

Peggy Robles-Alvarado, utilized her affinity for language and developed the talent that eventually earned her several scholarships enabling her to transform her identity from teen mother to the recipient of master’s degrees in elementary and bilingual education.
Not only is she a passionate elementary school educator and writer, she is also a CantoMundo, Academy for Teachers and Home School Fellow as well as a two time International Latino Book Award winner currently pursuing her MFA in Performance and Performance Studies at Pratt Institute. She is a 2014 BRIO performance poet award winner and in 2016. She was named one of the 25 Most Influential Women of the Bronx, A BCA Arts Fund and Spaceworks Bronx Community Artist grant recipient.
Peggy has been published in 92Y’s #wordswelivein, NACLA, The Center for Puerto Rican Studies and The Bronx Memoir Project. She has been featured on HBO Habla Women, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Poets and Writers Connecting Cultures Reading and The BADD!ASS Women Festival. Peggy's emphasis on the value of words for healing, transformation, and the fostering of a positive cultural identity have allowed her to continuously create and support literary events through Robleswrites Productions.

Vanessa Chica

Vanessa Chica is a New York City Educator, Writer and Performance Poet. A lover and supporter of all things creative. She began to share her poetry in 2013, at the Poets Passage in San Juan Puerto Rico. This frightening yet liberating decision has led to a whirlwind of creative endevours. Vanessa Chica has featured at various events such as The Smokin Word, Urban Juke Joint, Capicu, Word@4F, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe and The Bronx Museum.
She has performed At The National Black theatre in poetic theatrical shows " From the Page to the Stage", "Misconceptions" and Misconceptions too" produced in part by The Sunday Writing Circle/ The Full Circle Ensemble. She was a panelist for " Mujeres at the Mic" Bringing the Nuyorican experience, at The Association of Writers held in Los Angeles (2016).
She recently Published her first poetry book titled "The Girl With The Smile". Vanessa Chica believes there is strength in vulnerability and she is becoming stronger every day.

Karina G-Lopez, is an writer, poet, actor and educator from New York City. She is also a poetry judge, workshop facilitator and marketer as well.
